@First Coming Along

It looks like several of the retail spaces in the @First development (First St. and 237) are just about done. There are signs up for Union Bank, Panda Express, Five Guys, and Chipotle. There are also 2 buildings going up fast right next to the Target.

  1. Any idea of what they are planning to develop across the street? I see they've demolished some buildings.

    Do we have confirmation on Chick-fil-A? Thx.

  3. Thx.. they must be knocking down more then because this is just a small lot.

    I know they are building apartments and a park on Zanker/River Oaks where the old Sony building was.

  4. Yeah, that is a huge project going on at the old Sony site....and those guys work fast! A little further along River Oaks is part of the old Cadence campus. It has been demolished already and apartments are going in there too (and a small park from what I read on a discussion group). Here's hoping...we could use some parks around here in North San Jose!

  5. Definitely! Looking forward to all this development. Certainly need some more scenery other than office complexes. :-)

  6. Chick-fil-a is still a go, as is Fresh & Easy as a grocery anchor.

  7. Thanks Joshua. Chick-fil-a will be the death of my diet. LOL.

    I'll have to check out a Fresh & Easy. Looking forward to something different besides Safeway around here.

  8. I checked out a Fresh and Easy and not impressed. There's a few neat things about it, but certainly nothing that would make me want to shop there. I suppose it's convenient for the homes across the street that can walk there.

  9. Doh :/

    I've never been to one. Heard it was similar to Trader Joe's.

  10. I didn't think so. To me, it was more like a super mini-mart. A little bit of this and a little bit of that. It was nice that they had a meat section though.

    They do have a sample station that's similar to Trader Joe's.

    They do not have cashiers at the check out, it's all self check (at least the one on Saratoga Avenue is).
