Of the ones most likely to be built next, SJSC twin towers are certainly very good looking. The Julian tower is also very nifty looking.

We're definitely gonna get some clunkers along the way (Parkview and Graduates), so we just have to keep fighting for good aesthetics.Bobnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923860625279115418.post-28263605838731303832017-04-15T17:28:48.737-07:002017-04-15T17:28:48.737-07:00I agree to a certain extent with this sentiment, b...I agree to a certain extent with this sentiment, but it doesn't have to be a box of glass. Take a look at SJSC's twin towers project, with textured windows that move in and out, creating a beehive look that is very eye catching.

Or the Post Street tower, very similar in design as this one (both being slimmer buildings). And that one is very cool looking even though it's just a glass rectangle, but it's very well designed.

Silvery Towers is the same height as this, maybe even shorter, but its faceted face makes the buildings look unique.

I believe we can certainly do better than this design. That said, I won't be angry about this design if this happens to get built, as there are other bigger fishes to fry, like that empty parking lot next door.Bobnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923860625279115418.post-15266154688536355092017-04-15T17:21:13.163-07:002017-04-15T17:21:13.163-07:00When San Jose people stop laughing at their own ci...When San Jose people stop laughing at their own city, and stop apologizing for it, that's when other people will stop laughing at SJ.

Let's support what we have, and strive for better things, but at no point should we apologize for where we live and love.Bobnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923860625279115418.post-37471320874071112762017-04-12T11:52:08.280-07:002017-04-12T11:52:08.280-07:00C'mon now... you don't need a huge buildin...C'mon now... you don't need a huge building to convey uniqueness and beauty. Builders need to maximize the rentable space, so a box makes the most sense financially. At a 300 ft. limit it's not like you can put a spire on top. This particular building had to be cantilevered by 20 feet over the smaller building. Very tight space to work with on this project, so it's a miracle they can even get this done.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923860625279115418.post-24656044772692896122017-04-11T15:30:42.543-07:002017-04-11T15:30:42.543-07:00YAWN.... yet ANOTHER rectangular building in downt...YAWN.... yet ANOTHER rectangular building in downtown. It would also make people stop laughing at San Jose maybe.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
