TWO BUCK Tuesday Tomorrow!

Join us at KALEID Gallery for this upcoming Two Buck Tuesday! Come enjoy an inspired evening of art demos, performances, live painting, $2 art & quirky people get together!

And here are just some of the interesting artists and crafters you will meet!

Michele Guieu invites you to participate in a messy paper collage workshop and to experiment with colors and transparency. Tear the paper or use scissors and compose a one of a kind image. Paper (different types and colors), glue and brushes are provided. Size of the collage: 8x5.5”.


Laura Callin Bennett will help us make Pysanky (Ukrainian Dyed Easter Eggs). These are not your typical pastel dyed eggs! You will be able to draw intricate designs in wax and use brilliant dyes to create one-of-a-kind egg artwork.



David Mejia will paint your portrait on the spot for a small fee.

Brande Barrett will demonstrate how to make art into glass pendants.
Aaron will draw your name in Graffiti for a small fee.

Crafty New Year! Pals Courtney and Jo Anne will help you transform your old calendar into a brand new piece of art while still keeping track of the date! Bring an old wall calendar. Free!

Laura Callin Bennett and Lara Sophia will host a Re-Gifting Table! If you received a gift at Christmas that wasn’t quite your style, you can trade it for something else. Bring a small item you don’t want anymore to trade with another item on the table. Suggested items include, but are not limited to: small art supplies, books, CDs, candles, seed packets, non-perishable food items. Things should be in complete and good condition.

Michael Denning will provide a book binding demonstration, where everyone is welcome to create their own mini sketchbook for 2 bucks. Denning will also debut his latest book series “Art Saves Vol. 1-3”. 
Michael’s books are hand stitched and the covers were created on an antique hand operated letterpress.

Far out music by Tim Thompson!
Space Palette is a musical and graphical instrument created by Tim Thompson that makes use of the Microsoft Kinect, a 3D camera. Standing in front of a wood frame, you wave your hands and "paint" both music and projected visuals. Any number of hands can be used simultaneously, so you and your friends can use it together and become an instant band and light show!

Calligrapher Cari Ferraro will demonstrate these scribal secrets, working with inks and color on paper, from medieval styles to contemporary experimental lettering. She will have on hand a variety of tools to form different styles of lettering. A free sample of calligraphy (one or two words) for all who attend. Extra samples can be done, time permitting, for $2 each. Come and witness the archaic art of beautiful writing.

You all remember this project from elementary school: trace your hand, then add a beak and feet to create the traditional Thanksgiving bird. Revisit this classic art activity with tips from local artist Laura Callin Bennett.


Gear up for winter with cheapskate pals Courtney and Jo Anne as they show you how to make a snow (flake) mobile. Modernize the timeless tradition of cutting snowflakes and string 'em up into a lovely hanging decoration. Free!

TWO BUCK Tuesday Today!

TWO BUCK Tuesdays at KALEID Gallery

Tuesday,September 20th, 7-10pm
It's free and open to all ages!


Sandi Billingsley believes all of us can express ourselves with paint. Sometimes we just need a simple place to start. Join her and paint some simple and basic one stroke flowers. Paint, brushes and paper will be provided.



Ward Greunke will allow artists to experiment with a new form of wearable art. Evozip is a system of interchangeable skins for messenger bags that lets people quickly change the appearance of their bag. The skins are cotton canvas and can be decorated with markers or paints and then attached to the bag. Every skin fits every bag. Free skins will be given out on Tuesday night to allow you to experience this new media of self expression. Acrylic paints and markers will be provided!



John Hageman will be hand cutting/finishing shapes out of wood using various tools. Then demonstrating how to assemble them into 3-dimensional wall mounted art.



Canvas Ghosts' Art Party "Beyond the Comic Strip"  is coming up soon.  Stop by our table and make a mask to go with the costume you are wearing to the party!



Jodi Mascarenas will create hair feathers and do another fantasitc sugar skull demo for $2 each!



Scary Craft invites you to "Come Mess with Text!" Pals Courtney and Jo Anne will help you make literature art this month by cutting and drawing on books. What a novel way to transform books that would have otherwise gone into the dumpster or lined a birdcage. As always, it’s all about making art on the cheap! Crappy paperbacks will be provided.



David Mejia our resident sketch artist will draw your portrait while you wait for only $5!



Lisa Mejia will adorn you with lovely henna tattoos for a small fee.
