E&O Trading Company is Being Replaced by a Mediterranean Restaurant

The owners of Flames in Downtown San Jose are bringing a 6,000 sqft Mediterranean/Greek restaurant to South First Street in the space that used to house E&O Trading Company. The plan is to launch the restaurant by late summer. When it opens, it will be the only Greek restaurant Downtown. There was one planned for Post Street, but plans feel through late last year. Click here for more info!

On an unrelated note, there is also a new Yogurt shop coming to Santa Clara Street.  It will have some big shoes to fill with Penguin Froyo gone.

  1. i don't know... seems sort of ambitious, as it's a huge space and e&o was rarely crowded.

  2. Ambition is good! Let's hope they create a lively, inviting space that invites both diners and bar patrons!

  3. There's a ton of vacant restaurant space within one block of there. Let's hope their ambition is realistic.

  4. I loved Penguin Froyo. What happened to them? Just not doing enough business?

  5. Bad location, it was really hard to see from the street and the bus stop in front of it didn't help. It's a shame he doesn't plan to reopen because his product was rock solid.
