SJ Today has a great overview of how History San Jose came about, a wonderful museum of museums next to Kelley Park and the Japanese Friendship Garden. In addition to hosting many relics from San Jose's past, it is currently home to the Portuguese Historical Museum, the Museum of the Boat People and Republic of Vietnam, the Chinese American Museum, and the African American Heritage House.
